The opening ceremony has started the work of the Ural International Industry and Innovation Exhibition and Forum “Innoprom-2011”.
The Ural International Industry and Innovation Exhibition and Forum “Innoprom-2011” opened with an address made by the Plenipotentiary Envoy of the Russian President in the Urals Federal District Nikolay Vinnichenko and a congratulatory speech from Alexander Misharin, the Governor of the Sverdlovsk Oblast.
Nikolay Vinnichenko stressed that “We remember how a year ago we were opening the first Innoprom exhibition. It seemed then that the effort made by the organisers is of a regional kind but today we understand that this is a very much higher level. Also today we see the result of a year’s worth of well organised work to make this serious forum possible. The dynamics are demonstrative too; we expect that these few days will result in signing of potential contracts worth 50 billion roubles. Last year this figure was 43 billion roubles.
The Ural region bears the risks laid down in the USST times; the degree of wear of production capacities reaches 50% in some industries, the economy is dominated by production of raw materials. However, the share of companies active in innovations in the Sverdlovsk Oblast is much higher than average in Russia as a whole. Combining production with science potential will enable the economy to reach new horizons and by 2020 double the total amount of investments. The scenario for the development of the Urals Federal District and the Sverdlovsk Oblast is to stop the dependence on the production of raw materials. I would like to express my gratitude for the brilliant organisation of this event.”
Also Nikolay Vinnichenko read out the congratulatory telegram from the President of the Russian Federation Dmitri Medvedev to the participants of the Forum. “Innoprom's participants will facilitate the development of the country's economy and the transition to the innovations based way of development”, he stressed in the telegram.
Alexander Misharin, the Governor of the Sverdlovsk Oblast, stressed in his address that “The success of Russia’s industrialisation lies in the strong connections between science, production, and education. The Sverdlovsk Oblast must become a leader here. The work of this forum is all about the future of the country’s development. Innoprom is exciting and novel, our children will be coming to this exhibition too” stressed Alexander Misharin.
