On September 15 – 17, 2015 IEC ‘Crocus Expo’ hosted the exhibition ‘Import Substitution’. The FORMIKA Group of Companies, as the operator of events directly attributable to the topic relevant for all Russian industries, presented two major current projects at the stand of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation: the International Industrial Exhibition ‘INNOPROM (July 11 – 14, 2016, Yekaterinburg) and the Business Mission of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation ‘Trade and Industrial Dialogue: Russia – Japan’ (spring 2016, Tokyo). Heads of industrial production enterprises, as well as participants and visitors of IEC ‘Crocus Expo’ familiarized themselves with plans of events and discussed details of their participation with representatives of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation and the FORMIKA Group of Companies. In addition, they were interested in such foremost platforms to demonstrate the industrial potential of Russia in general and industrial companies, in particular. It should be noted that more than 600 industrial companies from around the world have become the participants of INNOPROM in 2015.
INNOPROM is a traditional site where leaders of the domestic and global industry clearly elaborate on the issues of import substitution and demonstrate their achievements.
But the most important thing is that INNOPROM provides direct communication between consumers of industrial products and leaders in the public sector, investors and partners, customers and suppliers. Within the framework of the large-scale exhibition at more than 50 000 sq.m. and at 150 events of the business program, the INNOPROM participants get acquainted with the latest developments, discuss topics that will determine the development of the world industries, as well as agree on joint investment projects, share experiences and achievements, and establish new contacts. In particular, in 2015, there was a discussion of the trends and prospects of import substitution in Russia, the parameters of the state procurement, the criteria of domestic product, as well as the required degree of localization of production, scientific and technological research in industry, new standards, and developments.
The topic of import substitution through the localization of foreign companies in Russia will rise during the Business mission to Japan in spring 2016: the Russian delegation headed by the Minister of Industry and Trade Denis Manturov will meet with the Japanese counterparts in Tokyo. It is noteworthy that the Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation for the first time will visit Japan within the framework of his official visit. His main objective is the strengthening of cooperation between Russia and Japan in the production and trade-economic fields. Within the mission, top managers of the Russian enterprises will visit the Japanese factories.
