On the October, 26, 2010 Press conference “Eurasia-Expo as the new symbol of the region” took place in the regional information centre “TASS-Ural”. As start up project the Second International Exhibition and Forum “INNOPROM-2011” that will take place from 14 to 16 July will perform.
The construction of the exhibition centre “Eurasia-Expo” with the total area of over 200 thousand sq. m. has begun in Ekaterinburg. The project is initiated by the government of Sverdlovsk region. As the general manager of “Corporation of development of the Middle Urals” Sergey Filippov has mentioned at the press conference, the project is going to become the mot up-to date exhibition centre in Russia, as the consultants of “Wulf&Partner” from Germany were included in the process of its designing. The international exhibition centre “Eurasia-Expo” will unite five exhibition pavilions with the area of 10-20 thousand sq. m., international congress-hall and multifunctional service zone that will be the interlink between the pavilions and will be used for leisure activities and catering of the visitors.
“The project goal is to make the exhibition centre “Eurasia-Expo” the leading exhibition stage in Russia and the new symbol of the Middle Urals” – announced the general manager of “Corporation of development of the Middle Urals” Sergey Filippov during the conference.
Implementation of the projects requires foundation amounting to 4,5 billion rubles. Half of the funds will be provided by the Sverdlovskiy region treasury. Second half will be funded from credit facilities and retail investors. The idea will be put into effect by 2 stages. First stage covers construction of exhibition facilities (94 thousand m2 - deadline due 1.07.2011) accompanied by a congress hall, restaurants and other premises. After that the total exhibition area will be extended to 205 thousand m2 .
According to Mr.Phillipov, the main goal of the organizers is to construct the Russia’s most up-to-date exhibition centre. Moreover, it is going to be the best exhibition area in Ural Region. Obviously exhibition activities tend to attract major investments all over the world and the government is preeminently aimed to draw investments to the region”.
Start-up project is the Second International Exhibition and Forum INNOPROM 2011 due from the 14 till the 17 of July. According to Exhibition General Manager Kira Ptanskaya, several negotiations with foreign partners have already begun. The next negotiations will take place in Hannover with one of the Europe’s biggest exhibition operators “Deutsche Messe”. Organizers of the exhibition will lay special emphasis on cooperation with Chinese partners.
Next year’s main goal is to invite as many foreign participants as we can. We look forward to rectifying all the previous Innoprom’s mistakes. We consider INNOPROM 2011 to become Russia’s best innovative exhibition.
