In 2015, the short list for the INDUSTRIA award numbered five finalists: Baikal Electronics, BIST Group, Optoguard Nanotech, Tavrida Electrics, and T8. All of them have an opportunity to compete for the most significant industrial Award in Russia. Expert Council of the Award, which consists of the leading representatives of the field of industrial innovation, development institutions and business media, will select a winner.
The INDUSTRIA Award established by the Ministry of Trade and Industry of Russia in 2014, is designed to facilitate implementation of advance technology in industrial manufacturing as well as public recognition of best practices of Russian companies in industrial development. Nominees present technological innovations and new types of products not just designed but implemented into manufacturing. Russian enterprises – authors of such projects apply for the Award.
Applications for the INDUSTRIA-2015 Award were accepted from October 2014 till March 2015. More than 130 applications were received by the Expert Council of the Award.
The projects were evaluated by the following criteria:
- Technological innovation of the project – technology performance evaluation,its advantages in comparison with existing solutions in the market;
- Impact on the industrial development – assessment of systemic impact on development of industrial sectors. Can a proposed project be used in other industrial sectors, increasing productivity, competitiveness and growth rates?
- Economic impact – demand analysis of technology, commercialisation forecast, dynamics of market volume, economic benefits for the final consumer;
- Project’s position in the global market –assessment of export performance. Indicators of company’s success abroad.
This year, the finalists presented cross-functional projects for all industrial sectors (for example, in the field of new materials: laser-plasma technique for synthesis of super hard coating for metals by Optoguard Nanotech), projects at the junction of telecommunications and IT (new generation processor by Baikal Electronics), an integrated system of distributed automation of networks and substations Smart Grids by Tavrida Electrics, communication platform for carrier backbone networks by T8), products for mining industry automation (mining and conveyor management system, BIST Group).
All the projects are unique; each project can help resolve the most difficult and essential issues in order to increase productivity of enterprises in various industrial sectors.

International Industrial Trade Fair INNOPROM has been held annually in Ekaterinburg since 2010. In 2014, INNOPROM hosted around 600 companies from 70 countries. Ekaterinburg was visited by more than 30 foreign delegations. During INNOPROM, 19 major agreements were signed totaling 6 bn roubles. The event was widely covered by federal and regional media; more than 300 media representatives were live in the press centre of INNOPROM.
According to the forecasts of the operator of the event, GC FORMIKA, the number of exhibitors and partners INNOPROM 2015 will surpass last year’s.
