On July 12-15, the Third International Exhibition and Forum of Industry and Innovations “INNOPROM” was held at Ekaterinburg-Expo IEC. The theme of INNOPROM-2012 is ”Technologies for People: Planning the Future, Building the Future.”
Almost 500 companies took part in the exhibition as exhibitors. Among them there were over 50 companies from the USA, Germany, France, Italy, Turkey, Czech Republic, Belarus, and other countries. There is an obvious increase in participants, both in terms of their number (400 companies in 2011) and their quality (36 international companies in 2011).
During these 4 days, almost 57,000 people visited the exhibition (43,000 in 2011).
About 90 events were held as part of the business program. Among them are forecast session “We Plan the Future,” plenary session “We Build the Future: Industrial Growth for Humanity” attended by the Prime Minister of the Russian Federation, the Industrial Design Forum, the International Conference on Technical Regulation, round tables, discussions, and presentations.
FROM AROUND THE WORLD TO INNOPROM
The Exhibition and the Forum were visited by 38 delegations from 32 countries, which totals 500 people (250 people in 2011). Among them are the ambassadors of the US, Denmark, Lithuania, leaders of such large international companies as Siempelkamp, Bombardier, DuPont, Siemens, Philips, 3M, and others. 18 events were held with participation of the Minister of International and Foreign Economic Relations of Sverdlovsk Region and international delegations.
MEDIA AT INNOPROM
Over 1,200 journalists from 475 media outlets worked at the Exhibition and the Forum. Among them are major Russian media companies (Channel One Russia, TV Russia, NTV, the Fifth Channel. Kommersant, Vedomosti, RBC) and foreign companies (Reuters, BBC, China Information agency). All the main events of INNOPROM were broadcast live around the clock.
The Forum’s press center became a platform where INNOPROM’s key events were taking place every 15 minutes (signing of agreements, opening of the office of the Agency for Strategic Initiatives in Ekaterinburg, presentations of the Industrial Design Forum, corporate presentations of Skolkovo, Rostelecom, Sberbank, etc.).
INNOPROM ON SOCIAL NETWORKS
An enormous work on social networks Facebook, LiveJournal and Twitter was carried out during preparation for INNOPROM. The number of Innoprom visitors on Facebook has reached 103,099, with the number of audience reaching the number of a media outlet. These users are from Russia, USA, and the European Union.
Innoprom’s Live Journal has over 2,400 friends that on a regular basis view its news posts. The average number of comments on a post is 50.
Intense work on social networks contributed to the enormous interest among young and active Russians in the trend-setting events of INNOPROM, such as the forecast session and the Industrial Design Forum.
Sverdlovsk Government’s stand at INNOPROM became a “point of attraction” of the whole exhibition. Almost 20 events took place here, including with participation of Prime Minister of the RF Dmitry Medvedev, RF minister M. Abyzov, Sverdlovsk Region’s Governor Yevgeny Kuyvashev.
The most high-profile event of Sverdlovsk Region’s stand was the panel discussion of the Open Government of the Russian Federation with participation of the RF’s minister M. Abyzov, resulting in arrangements for cooperation with Sverdlovsk Region’s government.
During these four days, representatives of Sverdlovsk Region’s business community were asked to fill out questionnaires. Over 600 questionnaires were collected, over 50 individual interviews with representatives of the Russian business elite were held. The respondents’ opinions will be reviewed during preparation of INNOPROM’s Declaration and development of recommendations for the Government of Sverdlovsk Region.
In his speech at the main plenary session, Dmitry Medvedev, Chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation, confirmed the status of INNOPROM as Russia’s main industrial exhibition.
The theme of INNOPROM-2013 to be held on July 11-14 has been defined as “Global Industry.” The theme of the future INNOPROM presupposes emphasis on such aspects of industrial activity as international cooperation and partnership.
