Setting up a new enterprise for manufacturing catalysts of continuous casting machines will help enhance the efficiency of metallurgical production and improve the investment climate of Sverdlovsk Region. On July 12, an agreement of intent between Titanium Valley SEZ JSC and Mashprom Scientific Production Enterprise stating their intention to create the enterprise was signed at INNOPROM’s exhibition area in the presence of Governor Yevgeny Kuyvashev.
It should be noted that 90% of steel in Russia and the CIS is manufactured by the continuous casting machines. Even as early as in 2010, Evraz NTMK (Nizhniy Tagil Iron and Steel Works) and Mashprom together with Japanese company Mishima Kosan started implementing Japanese cutting-edge technologies enhancing the durability of the walls of crystallizers of continuous casting machines. In June of 2012, EVRAZ NTMK broke a new world record of the catalysts durability - 484,000 tons of the high-carbon steel. This exceeds the durability rate of the closest competitor - an American company.
As Artemy Kyzlasov noted, the creation of the new enterprise in the territory of the special economic zone Titanium Valley will make it possible for the region to increase the production volume of modern metallurgical products, ensure implementation of the new technology for application of coating for the crystallizers of continuous casting machines and will boost the efficiency of the metallurgical production in the region and Russia.
As was noted by Kunio Okada, Member of the Management Committee of ROTOBO, Japanese Organization for Trade with Russia and Eastern Europe, cooperation with the Nizhniy Tagil Works made him even more confident that the Ural Region is a good partner for prosperous business. That is why it’s necessary to continue partner relations and develop production.
