Skolkovo and RVC reported on investment opportunities for small and medium business at INNOPROM-2015

Small business enterprises of the Sverdlovsk region will be able to get funding not only from the regional institutes for development but from federal structures such as the Skolkovo Foundation and Russian Venture Company. Vice-President of the Skolkovo Foundation, Executive Director of Nuclear Technology Cluster Mr Igor Karavaev, Director of Technology Capital and Markets Access Department of RVC Ms Gulnara Bikkulova and Director of the Sverdlovsk Regional Foundation for Support of Entrepreneurship Mr Yevgeny Kopelyan told about opportunities for getting the support from the federal institutes for development at the press conference in press-centre of the INNOPROM-2015 International Trade Fair.

The entrepreneur Mr Maxim Somov, the winner of the Startup Village Contest in 2015 (Skolkovo) shared his experience as well.
Projects’ authors seeking the co-investor could contact an Investment Agency established in July of the previous year in the frame of the regional foundation for support of entrepreneurship to request assistance in preparation of an application form and consultation on requirements of the federal structures. According to Mr Y. Kopelyan, the establishment of this division was announced at the INNOPROM-2014.The Agency works with regional and federal funds, institutes for development and private investors. The results of the organization’s work are known already. For example, the recent victory of Uralian startupter Mr Maxim Somov in the Skolkovo Contest Startup Village, where the winner got grand prize of 3 mln roubles.
“Ekaterinburg and Ural region in the whole are very active both in terms of quantity of projects involved for investments into our fund and in terms of projects involved not into our fund but into other programmes” – Ms G. Bikkulova noticed at the press conference.   
Thus, according to Ms G. Bikkulova, the project GenerationS exists. This is the federal accelerator of technologic startups in the course of which the best projects selected on the results of multi staged expert assessment obtain intensive development and ample opportunities for attracting investments.
This year Ekaterinburg is inside the top ten of cities according to the quantity of projects involved in this selection.
As Mr I. Karavaev said at the press conference, every fifth project on the average obtains grant financing in Skolkovo. Mr Karavaev gave the Axion Company presented at

INNOPROM-2015 on a stand of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation as an example. The company produces precious and semi-precious rare metals from different industrial wastes.

Sverdlovsk Venture Fund and Sverdlovsk Investment Fund are ready to invest into development of innovations and industry of small business of the Sverdlovsk region. The Funds began operations late last year. The Investment Fund has already held two deals totaling more than 60 million roubles. Session of the Supervisory Council of the Venture Fund will take place at the earliest time.


INNOPROM-2015 International Industrial Trade Fair takes place in Ekaterinburg over 8th to 11th July, 2015, in one of the largest expo-complexes of Russia, IEC "Ekaterinburg-Expo". This year, for the first time in INNOPROM’s history, China has been selected as a partner country. More than 150 different events of various formats are held during INNOPROM-2015. In 2014, INNOPROM presented about 600 companies from 70 countries. Ekaterinburg welcomed more than 30 foreign delegations. This year, GC Formika has become the operator of the International Trade Fair for the sixth time.
