The document was signed by Mr Vladimir Kruzhaev, Vice-rector for Research, UrFU, and Mr Evgeniy Rasskazov, Project manager for the integration of companies and strategic business development in Russia and CIS, Thomson Reuters.
“Our collaboration arose more than five years ago, with our first steps in the area of joint work both in the sphere of scientometrics and in several other directions. And, of course, today, I think we have pretty confidently determined the trend of joint work in the coming years. And from the point of view of our company, we are very pleased that there is such a powerful driver of innovations, moving the progress, as the Ural Federal University,” Mr Evgeniy Rasskazov said.
Mr Vladimir Kruzhaev noted that it is a privilege for the University to interact with the company, the metric data of which are used by many universities and research and development enterprises, and told of two already completed projects.
“So, Thomson Reuters helped us to deal with our research area on materials science. As a result of the project we received a number of recommendations how to develop this area further in the right way, with what centres to interact in order to move to a new level. In addition, a few months ago, the first Russian guidance on scientometrics in Russian language was published. It was published jointly by Thomson Reuters and our University,” he explained.
In the future, UrFU and Thomson Reuters plan to jointly develop a laboratory for scientometrics, which was established at the University a couple of months ago.
