The round table of the Agency for Strategic Initiatives for the promotion of new projects “Energy of young professionals: career promotion of young people”. Education, business, and management professionals at the round table attempted answering the following four strategic questions:
- “What has to be done for the implementation of competitive professional standards?”
- “What is needed to make medium sized businesses compete for human assets?"
- “How can living environment and infrastructure help keeping young professionals from running away from the country and settling abroad?
- and “Vertical flight (career growth). What is needed for it?”
Each participant of the round table answered these questions individually. The Prime Minister of the RF Vladimir Putin also had some time for a discourse on this topic during a direct TV link with participants. He carefully listened to the round table’s moderator Sergey Vorobyov, the Board Chairman of Ward Howell, when he reported on the course of the discussion of this tough issue. When asked “What is important for you when choosing a professional?”, he answered without a moment's hesitation “Open and honest competition”.
Vladimir Putin also pointed out that the issue in question at this round table is “subtle and sensitive and that discussing it calls for a creative approach”. He also wished the participants after they find answers to all four questions to try and assemble everything into a “working machine for creating and selecting young highly qualified staff”. In summary Vladimir Putin added that “flights, if they are vertical, should only go up” since this is the only direction appropriate for the development of a young professional “Each person should be very confident at his/hers workplace”, he added.
The results of the round table’s work will be those suggestions and designs which get the approval by the Agency for the Strategic Initiatives for further development and support.
